About Make Crypto Make Sense

Institutional intelligence before the institutions arrive.

Erez Almog

Why I Started This

When I first stepped into the world of crypto, I felt like an outsider at a private club. I have spent over 25 years in law, business, and strategy, closing transactions worth nearly one billion dollars across technology, finance, and real estate. Yet even with that background, crypto often felt like a foreign language disguised as finance. What I could not find was a place where professionals could ask straightforward questions without feeling out of place.

I created what I wish I had back then: a calm, credible space where intelligent people can understand how blockchain, digital assets, and AI are changing the way value moves. Each week, I address one question that matters. No forecasts. No slogans. Just clear thinking and practical insight.

Our Mission

I built Make Crypto Make Sense because I couldn't find what I needed.

As a lawyer since 1998, I've spent 25+ years in cross-border transactions, venture law, and digital asset structuring. I wanted clear explanations backed by primary sources. Not consulting-firm slide decks or legal-memo obscurity.

I create relatable articles that work like good stories: they pull you in. But unlike most stories, these are backed by central banks, regulators, and institutional research. You get both: the clarity professionals need and the sources lawyers demand.

Everywhere else serves one of two crowds: retail speculators chasing coins, or developers speaking in code. No one writes for fund managers, wealth managers, family offices, compliance officers, lawyers, bankers, and risk teams who need to understand digital assets for their work.

So I built the space I wished existed.

What We Do

We make sense of the new financial order, one concept at a time.

  • Agentic AI & Programmable Finance: How AI agents and autonomous systems are beginning to transact value.
  • DeFi Fundamentals: Decentralised finance explained without unnecessary complexity.
  • Real-World Applications: How digital assets connect to law, business, and governance.
  • Risk & Security: Understanding where things can fail and how to stay protected.

Built for How You Actually Read

Every article gives you options:

  • Excerpt + TL;DR: Two minutes. You're done. Move on.
  • Accessible English breakdown: The full story without jargon. Readable on lunch break.
  • Deep dive layers: For when you have time, or when you're delegating to your team for weekend reading.

You get what you need, when you need it. No fluff. No filler. Just structured intelligence you can actually use.

Our Approach

Every article builds from primary sources: regulatory bodies (SEC, ESMA, MAS, FINMA), central banks (BIS, ECB, Fed), international organizations (IMF, FATF, OECD), leading universities (MIT, Stanford), and the companies building the infrastructure (Visa, Coinbase, BlackRock). That's 60-70% of what we cite.

We go to whoever is making the move, and start from there. Then we cross sources, research, analyze and add our insights.

When peer consulting firms like Deloitte, McKinsey, and BCG analyze the same frameworks and reach similar conclusions, we cite them as validation—independent confirmation that the patterns we're identifying are becoming institutional consensus.

This approach comes from 26 years navigating legal frameworks and cross-border transactions across multiple jurisdictions. Most people think in lanes. I think in systems. That's how you spot patterns others miss.

We focus on what matters most:

  • Clarity over hype: No coin chasing or get-rich promises.
  • Context over definitions: Understanding why something matters, not only what it is.
  • Practical knowledge: Insights professionals can apply immediately.
  • Intellectual honesty: Acknowledging uncertainty and questioning assumptions.

Who I Am

Erez Almog is a lawyer, strategist, and entrepreneur who has worked in the legal and business field since 1998.

He started in high-tech venture law: SPAs, IPOs, general legal and corporate counsel work across NASDAQ and Neuer Markt listings. When the dot-com crash hit, he pivoted, expanding into commercial real estate, cross-border transactions, and SPV creation across multiple jurisdictions.

Over two decades, he has structured licensing frameworks, advised on international business strategy, invested in real estate, and worked on Web3 projects. His client work has spanned continents and regulatory regimes, from fintech licensing to offshore structures to tokenized assets.

What sets him apart is how he thinks: not purely as a lawyer, not purely as an entrepreneur, but as someone who bridges both. He assesses value, risk, and opportunity in real time, thinking in systems rather than silos. Long-term strategy over short-term hype.

Crypto and digital assets became a natural convergence point: the intersection of law, technology, finance, and cross-border complexity. Make Crypto Make Sense is where that experience turns into accessible, institutional-grade analysis.
